BeWild is a small organization with big dreams. We are dedicated to educating the community about responsible exotic pet ownership and safe cohabitation with local wildlife. This mission is accomplished primarily through the use of interactive programs. By using live animals in our programs, BeWild makes learning about reptiles, mammals, and invertebrates an engaging experience suitable for all ages. We believe that animal education should be accessible to everyone, which is why we strive to provide low cost educational programs to a wide variety of private and public venues. BeWild is a 501c3 nonprofit and has lots of plans for the future! Our strategic plan includes eventually moving to a larger facility, which will allow us to offer guided tours, volunteering opportunities, and larger rescue capabilities.
As a secondary mission, BeWild rescues displaced exotic animals. Many of our ambassadors were adopted from other rescue organizations or come from a rehoming situation. We are occasionally able to accept exotic pet surrenders from the public. However, our space is extremely limited at this time. As we grow, we hope to expand our rescue operations.
