Our Rescue Efforts
Surrendering your pet is a big decision that should be made with great care. If you do find yourself unable to care for your exotic pet, BeWild is sometimes able to accept surrenders from the public. However, our space is limited at this time, so we must evaluate each surrender on a case by case basis. Animals surrendered to BeWild will either stay with us and serve the community as educational ambassadors or be placed with a carefully vetted home. If we are unable to accept your pet, we will do our best to point you in the direction of a rescue that is able to help. We can also advise you on how to safely rehome your pet yourself. Never be afraid to reach out to us for help or advice, but please understand that we are limited due to space and facility restrictions.
Species we can typically accept include small to medium-sized reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates. Reptiles we cannot accept at this time include adult iguanas, large monitors, aquatic turtles, and Burmese or reticulated pythons. Unfortunately, we also cannot accept any exotic birds or rabbits. As BeWild grows, we hope to overcome these restrictions as we are passionate about helping exotic animals of all shapes and sizes.
Rescued animals available for rehoming will be posted on this page and on our social media. Please contact us with any interest in adoption!
